Hiding for the Crossed with his girlfriend Penny, they decided to follow the main road for Glasgow. Not to travel on it, but use it as a guideline. Coming to a highway, Penny was infected by fresh Crossed blood. She decided to kill herself, rather than turning into a Crossed. Left alone, Ian wandered Scotland alone until he became part of a group of survivors.
He was the last one of his group to survive the chasing Crossed. He had one grenade to use on himself. It is unrevealed if he killed himself with the grenade while surrounded by his former teammates who had all turned into the Crossed.
