Born into a Zulu tribe in South Africa, the man born M’bulaze discovered he could out run and out jump the antelope. Joining the Global Guardians he took the name Impala. He was one of the brainwashed Guardians during the Queen Bee occupation of Bialya. He also loses his powers against Fain Y’onia. They are later restored once Fain is destroyed. His picture hangs up on Roulette’s wall of fallen heroes. Her club, The House, pits drugged heroes against each other to the death.
After Flashpoint, Charles Mokose is Impala and possesses a totem similar to the Tantu totem that grants him his super-speed powers and healing powers. A member of the Global Guardians, he teamed up with Vixen to prevent an ancient deity from taking over the world.
