When Dirk London runs into his hotel, the innkeeper shows the man to a room. A short time later, the police come to inquire about the sole tenant in the hotel. The innkeeper goes to inform Dirk that the cops would like to speak with him, but Dirk kills him to get at a key that should unlock a mysterious door in the room.
