Literary History
Dick Donovan, the Glasgow Detective, was created by Joyce Emmerson Preston Muddock and published in the 1880s. He is one of the first ever fictional detectives, predating Sherlock Holmes, he has now entered the public domain.
League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen
In the League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen Donovan is a member of MI6. Among his duties was to interrogate Hawley Griffin and Mr. Hyde. He is respected a great deal by his supervisor Campion Bond.
