Iron Knight debuted in a back-up short story in Batman #256, where Bruce Wayne wasn’t inspired by a bat to became a crime fighter, but by a falling old knight’s armor. Grant Morrison used this concept for the Batman analogue of earth 36 and member of Justice 9.
Iron Knight works also as an analogue to Big Bang comics’ Knight Watchman.
