Origin
Irving is an imp, a member of a species that resembles Biblical depictions of devils. He is the best friend of the dragon Wormy, and he speaks with a distinctive, stereotypical Brooklyn accent.
Creation
Irving was created by artist and writer David A. Trampier as one of the supporting cast in Trampier’s Wormy comic strip for TSR’s in-house roleplaying game magazine Dragon.
