Ivelisse

Origin

Ivelisse Milagro Vélez is a Puerto Rican wrestler who participates in the Lucha Underground underground fight scene. She is tough and prone to temper and bad moods, which of course can be as much of a benefit as a hindrance in the Temple and Lucha Underground. It also adds some credibility to her claim of being “the baddest bitch in the building”. When Ivelisse first started participating in the Lucha Underground, she did so partnered with Son of Havoc, but although she could be very supportive and sweet to Son of Havoc, she often insulted him, especially when he lost, leading to a fractured relationship. This would be a positive for Son of Havoc, as he would go on to defeat Angelico, another fighter who had been attempting to woo Ivelisse. Irony would strike, as Dario Cueto, the head of the Lucha Underground, would force Ivelisse, Son of Havoc and Angelico to team together in a tag team. They would have to also compete in a tournament for the newly created Trios Championship title. Despite the unusual arrangement and preexisting tension and animosity between Ivelisse, Son of Havoc and Angelico, new team would go on to have success, and win the Trios Championship.

Despite initial in fighting outside the ring, their success in the ring would bring the three misfits together well. After considerable time they would lose the Trios Championship to the Disciples of Death members Barrio Negro, El Siniestro de la Muerte and Trece, death obsessed luchadors commanded by Catrina and Mil Muerte.

Creation

Ivelisse is a wrestler for Lucha Underground, created by the El Rey Network. Appearing on the television show, she is also featured in the Lucha Underground comics.

Character Evolution

Like many of the characters from Lucha Underground, and professional wrestling, Ivelisse is an extension and exaggeration of the wrestler themselves, in this case, Ivelisse Milagro Vélez.

Major Story Arcs

Lucha Underground Season Two

Ivelisse would return to the Temple, now on much better terms with her newfound allies, Son of Havoc and Angelico. No longer champions after their defeat at the hands of Barrio Negro, El Siniestro de la Muerte and Trece,, the trio would try and get a championship match with the Disciples of Death. As Dario Cueto had been usurped by Catrina and Mil Muerte, this was a harder task to accomplish, and Catrina being as calculating and manipulate as ever, would instead create a triple threat match between the three, hoping to stir up new tension between the three. The winner would get an opportunity to face Mil Muertes for the Lucha Underground Championship. Despite the circumstance, the triple threat would be respectful, and Ivelisse would pick up the victory after an intense performance. Mil Muerte, would later defeat Ivelisse.

Ivelisse possesses no super human abilities or powers. She is a skilled wrestler/luchador, and know for being a good all rounder. She can grapple, brawl, strike and perform high flying moves.
