In the aftermath of an apocalyptic world war, humanity now shares the planet with sentient robots. The population has splintered into hundreds of small enclaves linked by the Sailrail network. Each enclave has its own rituals and regulations. Civil war often rages between enclaves and the relationship between man and mechanoids is highly volatile.
Jack Wardog is a man with a hole in his mind. He awoke one day without any memories of his past. They had been gouged out and replaced with an explosive charge and a time display bonded to his forehead. Now he is a bombhead, given suicide missions with near impossible deadlines.
