Janet made her first apparition in the Legs Weaver comic book. Her pysical appearance was probably insipired by Tomb Raider heroine Lara Croft, while her last name was inspired by comic secret agent Modesty Blaise. Â
She encountered Legs and the Agenzia Alfa during a mission when she was an agent of the S.I.M. intelligence service. After that Legs and May departed, she started a relationship with Legs Weaver and the two women founded a new private vigilance agency, called The Agency.
