Janey leaves Jon Osterman, aka Dr. Manhattan, in 1966, after she begins to suspect a relationship between him and the second Silk Spectre. She was given cancer by Adrian Veidt; she believed that the cancer was caused by living with Osterman, which was Veidt’s intention.
