Jerry Adams is a newspaper boy whose father was killed by the Faceless Phantom. This forced Jerry to be the sole bread winner of his family supporting them on his meager wages. When Faceless Phantom tried to kill Doc Strange Jerry risked his life to save Strange. Strange was so grateful that upon learning of Jerry’s situation he vowed to get Jerry the money to pay off his home.
