Origin
Born to Japanese immigrant parents, and as such considered a Nisei, or second-generation Japanese-American, Jim Morita was raised in America. At the outbreak of war he joined the US Army, becoming a member of the Rangers, assigned to a squad of Nisei soldiers.
Creation
Jim Morita was created by Roy Thomas and Dick Ayers and first appeared in Sgt. Fury #38.
Major Story Arcs
The War
Morita fights alongside the Howling Commandos on numerous occasions. He joins them in a mission to rescue Dr Warren Parker from a concentration camp. He later fights alongside his squadron to defend Able Company’s base from Colonel Klaue and the Blitzkrieg Squad. He and his squadron are captured and held in prison camp 13, a Nazi POW camp, during which time some fellow prisoners suspect Morita of being a traitor due to his Japanese heritage. Despite this, he joins with members of the Howling Commandos to orchestrate the escape from the prison of all captives.
Powers and Abilities
Morita has no known superhuman powers or abilities. He is skilled in martial arts, particularly judo and karate, and has skill in armed combat due to his time in the army.

Morita appears as a POW who is rescued by Steve Rogers and later joins him and members of the Howling Commandos in attacking HYDRA bases. He is portrayed by Kenneth Choi.

Morita appears as minor character in this video game based on the Captain America movie. Kenneth Choi reprises his role.
