Joaquin Murrieta Carrillo (1829 – July 25, 1853), sometimes spelled Murieta or Murietta famous outlaw in California during the California Gold Rush. Murrieta is portrayed as a bandit or hero, depending on the narrative, is identified as one of Zorro‘s inspirations, in the films The Mask of Zorro and The Legend of Zorro, Joaquin has a brother named Alejandro, when Joaquin is killed, his brother swears revenge as Harry Love, who in the real story, killed Joaquin, Alejandro is found by Don Diego de la Vega, Zorro and assumes his legacy, he has a son with Elena, Zorro’s daughter and names him as Joaquin, who uses the name Joaquin de la Vega.
