Steve Rogers

Everybody we met had only nice things to say about this guy. Seems like he’s fixed an air conditioner or leaky sink for about everyone on his street.

Cap and Falcon had been tracking Captain America imposters, Speed Demon and Sin. They had stolen Cap’s shield and were using it to target member of the Network of Captain Americas, local heroes inspired by Steve Rogers and took on the mantle of Captain America.

When Cap and Sam lost Speed Demon in New Mexico, they believed they knew where he was going next: Kansas to take on Joe Gomez, the Captain America of the Kickapoo Reservation.

They visited Joe at his home where the trio discussed possible targets. A Cheyenne candidate for governor was speaking at the historic school at the center of Brown Vs the Board of Education. They went to defend the location, however, they were beat bad by Sin, Speed Demon, and a mysterious third figure.

Joe was in especially rough shape, but he refused medical treatment in order to protect the governor. None of them were fast enough to get to the candidate before Speed Demon threw the shield at him. Luckily, Bucky suddenly appeared and blocked the shield.

With the candidate saved, Joe was ready to accept the medical treatment.
