Joey Sanchez was a hood when the original Blue Beetle (Dan Garret) was fighting crime, Leter, when Ted Kord was the Blue Beetle and working as a C.I.A (Central Intelligence Agency) agent Joey “captured” him and plan on using him as bait in a double cross to kill his crime boss Terry Spencer. What Joey didn’t know was that Kord only allowed himself to be captured. Once Ted discovered the double cross he intervened but neither Kord or Sanchez know that the C.I.A. agent making the swap was none other the Dan Garrret. Joey couldn’t have been more unlucky than facing both Blue Beetles.
