Major Story Arcs

John and Bess are excited for the arrival of their new baby. Whisky Jill comes to town and is just in time to deliver it. John waits outside and has a difficult time hearing his wife in so much pain. He is surprised when the Marshall shows up demanding Jill to come outside in the middle of the delivery. John is even more surprised when Jill comes running out with a little bundle in her arms. He is shocked when Jill throws the bundle into the air as a distraction. He is dismayed when the bundle is not caught, Jill instead running away from the Marshall. John approaches the bundle and begins to mourn his lost son. Bess shows up at the door and tells him that they actually had a girl – and she was holding her. John opens the bundle and finds his ma’s vase. Relieved, he joins his wife inside.
