Jon Spectre came from the future to the current era to find Cannonball and recruit him to defeat, at first, Cable. He thought Cable was the enemy who would destroy the world from his future. He fought Cable, and especially Shatterstar, who defeated him in a sword fight. He realized later that Skornn, a monster, and its disciples were the real threat, and he allied himself with Cable, the new X-Force, Wolverine, the Fantastic Four and some members of the Mutant Liberation Front.
Jon Spectre’s whereabouts are actually unknown, he disappeared at the end of the Skornn story arc.
