Origin
Her parents wanted Jose to be a nun. The night before she was to join the convent, she ran away. When the authorities found her, they told her her parents had died. Her parents had been looking for her, when they were struck by a drunk driver and rammed their truck into a ravine, where they drowned. Jose came from Cuba to America to become a medical examiner, thinking that working with the dead made her closer to her dead parents.
