Origin
Very little is known about Joseph Meauchand. A violinist of great skill, he also sought adventure, and travelled far from home to seek the Island of the Gilded Virgins, and there to find his fortune.
Creation
Joseph Meauchand was created by Lilah Sturges and Tony Akins. He made his first appearance in House of Mystery #6.
Major Story Arcs
House of Mystery
Meauchand’s ship is waylaid by the pirate Ann Preston as he returns to the continent from the Island. He is reluctantly taken into her custody, teaches her the violin, and soon becomes her lover. He convinces her to take her crew to the Island, where he springs an ambush of the monsters who guard the golden idols on her and her crew, in revenge for her having stolen him from his life and fortune. He is killed by Ann when she drives his bow through his neck.
Powers and Abilities
Joseph Meauchand has no known superhuman powers or abilities. He is a gifted violinist.
