Josephine’s objective was to torture the evil wizard Anton Arcane during his stay in Hell. However, Arcane seduces Josephine, telling her that he has fallen in love with her. Eventually, Arcane attains the status of a demon, and he convinces Josephine to help him seek revenge on the Swamp Thing. The two attack the Swamp Thing, but Arcane betrays her to save his own life and defeat his foe. Despite his betrayal, both demons are sent back to hell. Arcane later impregnates Josepine, and the two combine into a single pregnant demon.Â
