Origin
Akaru was a misogynist young man who grew up on the very remote pacific island of Guri Guri. A very strong fighter (due to harsh island living), he pretty much judged everything on how manly it was.
As a small child he finds a message in a bottle from a young Ichi-kun Ichinohei. Ichi was lonely and wanted a friend. Akaru spent years pining after her. When he got older decided to leave the island, and find her so that they could marry. He packed his things, grabbed his pet squid Sigmund, and set out into the world to find his bride. After much searching, he found his way to Quagmire.
When Akaru finally met up with Ichi and she did not want to come with him he decided to try and take her by force. Jeremy and Asrial came to the rescue and a giant fight broke out. It pretty much came down to him and Jeremy, who was getting thoroughly trounced. Asrial made the save by giving Jeremy a Salusian energy drink (akin to steroids), that allowed Jeremy to defeat Akaru. Fascinated with this strange new place, Akaru decided to stay and see what he could learn.
