Aquaman (Film).
The first appearance of this character is in the film Aquaman (James Wan, 2018). An intelligent ancient prehistoric kraken serving the king of Atlantis. He served Atlan, the first king of Atlantis. The king himself feared the power of this being, so with the sinking of Atlantis, the Karathen became the protector of the tomb and Trident of Poseidon that Atlan possessed. Thousands of years later, Arthur Curry, Aquaman, arrived at the tomb of King Atlan to claim the trident. After fighting him, the Karathen, he realizes that Aquaman has the same ability as Atlan: to talk to and understand marine species. Because of this, he tells her that if Atlan’s trident considers Arthur worthy of it, then she will be put at his service. When Aquaman takes possession of the trident, the Karathen returns with him to stop the war of Atlantis and Ocean Master‘s intentions to attack the surface world.
