Creation
Kawaki was created by the author Ukyo Kodachi and artist Mikio Ikemoto, he first appeared in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations #1 – Uzumaki Boruto!. Kawaki (渇き or 乾き) means “dry” or “parched”.
Origin
As a child Kawaki lived alone with his abusive father until Jigen (Isshiki Ōtsutsuki) bought him as a slave. Jigen along with Amando performed various experiments on Kawaki including grafting a Kāma to make him an Ōtsutsuki vessel.

Kawaki is a remarkably powerful fighter, having been brutally trained in armed and unarmed combat by Jigen to master his various enhancements then later learned different ninjutsu techniques from Naruto.

Kāma
Kawaki possesses theKāmamark of Isshiki Ōtsutsuki. Kawaki’s body has gradually been rewritten at a genetic level to be reborn as a “perfect Ōtsutsuki”. With it, he is able to absorb ninjutsu, and open portals to other dimensions.
When accessing the strongest form of this power, Kawaki grows a horn from the back of his head. This horn indicates that his powers have ascended to the next level and that he is at his very strongest. Eventually Kāma advanced enough for Kawaki to access Isshiki’s dōjutsu and his various techniques.
Isshiki’s Dōjutsu: Kawaki awaken it in his left eye
- Sukunahikona: The ability to shrink themselves and any inanimate object or nonliving matter within their sight. Accompanied with the technique is
- Daikokuten: Is a technique that lets the user transports objects toward the dimension where time doesn’t flow and can summon objects from that dimension to the real world. The objects retrieved can be launched at tremendous speed.
- Disruption Cubes: Can summon large black cubes which are capable of interfering with the abilities of sensory types.
- Chakra Receivers: Can summon, shrink and launch chakra rod receivers.
- Kama Rift: A technique that can be performed for users who have the Kama mark. It’s a rift that lets the user to teleport at any place the wish.
Body Modification:
Kawaki’s body was implanted with microscopic technology constantly alters his physiology throughout his circulatory and nervous systems. His body tissue can undergo rapid cellular division, able to heal at an accelerated rate, he can also transform parts of his body, weaponizing it; these growths can even thrown as projectiles.
