Ken Shannon was a tough as nails and no brighter than he needed to be private eye cut from the same cloth as Mike Hammer and a dozen other hard boiled P.I.s in the 50s, they even had him tell his stories in the first person, which was a little odd for the comic book format.
And while he dealt with his share of hoods, thieves and other such urban bad guys Ken also from time to time found he also had to deal with Fu Manchu like master minds and even adventures dealing with vampires and zombies.
He was aided by his “gal Friday, and every other day of the week,” Dee-Dee Dawson who also supplied most of the brains of the Shannon Detective Agency.
