Keyhole Kate first appeared in The Dandy comic from 1937-55. She even managed to oust Korky the Cat on the cover for one issue in 1945. After a ten year absence she emerged in the pages of Sparky in 1965 where she was a regular character for nine years. She reappeared in the Dandy again in the 90s and has appeared intermittently since. In the digital version of The Dandy, an older version of her is depicted as a high school newspaper editor. Whereas the previous versions were all humour, this version has more of an adventure style with an ongoing narrative.
