Origin
Kiefer once worked for an unknown government agency who was linked with The Weapon X Program and gave Wolverine his Adamantium claws. Wolverine later threatened Kiefer’s life, promising to kill him if he ever saw him again.
Creation
Kiefer was created by Greg Rucka and Yoshitaka Amano, first appearing as the main antagonist for Elektra and Wolverine: The Redeemer.
Major Story Arcs
The Redeemer
Kiefer oversees Doctors Daniel and Veronica Connor’s experiments on their daughter Avery using parts of Wolverine’s DNA, intending to make her superior to Wolverine. Kiefer continuously checks upon Avery and when her parents attempt to escape from his control, he hires Elektra to murder Daniel. However, Avery witnesses the murder and Kiefer fears he could be traced back to the assassin. Kiefer then contacts Wolverine, ordering him to protect Avery and Veronica as they are both linked to his forgotten past.
However, both Wolverine and Elektra soon realise Kiefer’s true intent. Realising this, Kiefer takes Veronica hostage in an attempt to make Wolverine work with him. Being distracted by Avery, Wolverine viciously wounds Kiefer before Elektra finishes the job and kills him.
