Creation
Originally created by the Japanese show Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger appeared in episode #5 as a cameo appearance before having his debut in episode #6. In Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger King Sphinx was known as Dora Sphinx and had a human form that he used to act as a children’s game show host. When the show was adapted into Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, he was renamed King Sphinx and lost the ability to transform into a human.
In Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger Dora Sphinx is voiced by Isamu Ichikawa who also played the human form. In Power Rangers, he is voiced by Richard Cansino.
TV Show
King Sphinx made his debut in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers season one episode #4 as one of the first monster of the week villains the Power Rangers ever fought.
