Character Evolution

Kirsty Cotton first appeared as a character in Clive Barker‘s novella The Hellbound Heart. She was then featured as a hero in the Hellraiser film franchise, first appearing in the first Hellraiser film, and then reappearing in Hellraiser II, Hellraiser III, and Hellseeker. Kirsty then starred as the hero of the 2011 Boom! Studios Hellraiser comic series, Clive Barker’s Hellraiser.

Major Story Arcs

Roughly 20 years has passed after Kirsty first met Pinhead. Kirsty has fallen in love with Edgar Boyle, and brought together the Harrowers, a team of individuals that have suffered at the hands of the Box, to put an end to the Cenobites and the Box. Kirsty encounters Pinhead once again, who seeks to regain his mortal life at Kirsty’s expense. In order for him to take on flesh again, he needs Kirsty to take his role as lead Cenobite. After Kirsty witnesses her lover and friends die at the hands of the Box, she decides to accept Pinhead’s bargain, and becomes a Cenobite so that she can be rejoined with her loved ones and rule hell as she pleases.
