Kou is a demon hunter like his father before him. He is friend with Takeru. When he was in an accident, Kou hand was damaged, Takeru donated her skin to fix him up. But when Takeru finds the Witchblade, Kou’s hand is transforming into a demon hand. He has complete control over it though. In the end Kou cut off Takeru’s hand, preventing her from Witchblade’s deadly possession.
