Lalita, the daughter of a Scottish doctor, was wed to Lord Harry Bertram for her dowry. But their wedding was loveless after she failed to give him a child. Lalita was impregnated with an insectoid egg by her lover Mariah. One night, while making love to her husband, Lalita passed the egg on to Harry. Immediately he became ill and after a while, the egg hatched and killed him. Lalita and Mariah raised their child William together.
