Born Lionel Andres Messi Cuccittini in June 24, 1987 in Rosario Argentina to Jorge Messi and Celia Cuccittini. He is of Italian and Spanish descent from his father’s side and mostly Italian from his mother. He joined the Barcelona youth academy, La Masia, when he was 13 years old.
