Little Joe was a long running Sunday comic strip that started in 1933 in the same paper that saw the birth of Dick Tracy, Little Orphan Annie and others, running for over 39 years the strip told the story of an eternal 13 year old boy living on a ranch in the modern West with his mother and handyman Utah.
Basically it was Little Orphan Annie, only Annie was a boy, and there was no Daddy Warbucks, Sandy the dog or Broadway musical. And all the adventures took place in the American West of myth.
