Lola-la is a Neanderthal woman who lives on a strange island full of dinosaurs. His tribe of Neanderthals managed to survive for thousands of years on this island in the Pacific Ocean.
Island X was an island located in the Pacific Ocean. It was populated by a multitude of prehistoric animals as well as a tribe of Neanderthals.
Lola-La and Island X were created by Louise Simonson, Dennis Janke and Jon Bogdanove during in the BLACKOUT arc in the 90s.
Lola-la and Island X first appearance in Superman: The Man of Steel (Volume1) #6 December, 1991.
Lola-la is another female character with DOUBLE L.
One day, Superman and Mister Z end up on this Island X. Kal-El and Mister Z have amnesia, the two are chased by the island’s dinosaurs until they are saved by the Neanderthals.
As the natives do not know the language of Superman and Mister Z, nor do they know the Neanderthals, understanding is impaired. The two are taken prisoner.
Lola-la who is the daughter of the chief of the tribe ends up falling in love with Superman. After some time, she convinces her father that she wants to marry Kal-El.
Lola-la’s father asks Superman if he accepts, who doesn’t understand what is being said. Mister Z tries to warn you not to answer anything, as he could commit to something important.
Lois, Guardian and Emil Hamilton who were looking for Superman intercept a communication from French sailors who found Superman with no memory. Lois and the two friends head for the coordinates given by the sailors.
Preparations are underway for Kal-El’s wedding to Lola-La. Suddenly Lois, Guardian and Emil Hamilton arrive to interrupt the wedding.
Lola-La gets into a fight with Lois when the reporter pulled Superman to speak, as the Neanderthal wanted to protect her future husband.
Emil Hamilton suspects that it is all due to Mr Z’s ruse, but he is still amnesic. Confused Mister Z exits and spots a herd of Dinosaurs swarming toward the tribe. Superman unwittingly uses his heat vision and scares the beasts. Lois kisses Superman hoping he’ll remember her, and she succeeds.
