A thousand years in the past, this aged Jedi Master led the Army of Light in epic combat against Darth Bane, Lord Kaan and the Brotherhood of Darkness on Ruusan.

Lord Hoth was informed that Lord Kaan and his Brotherhood of Darkness were going to unleash a weapon that would kill the Army of Light and the Brotherhood of Darkness. Lord Hoth, along with one hundred of his most trusted associates, went into the catacombs to stop Lord Kaan. He discovered that Lord Kaan intended to set off a Thought Bomb – a powerful and dangerous Sith technique. The bomb detonated, killing the remnants of the Brotherhood of Darkness as well as Lord Hoth and his men. The souls of those caught in the blast became trapped in a silver, ghostly object. They were sealed away on Ruusan, in a location known as the Valley of the Jedi, where they would remain for a thousand years.
