Luke is the calm and wise-beyond-his-years member of the Band. He has a strong Zen philosophy and takes even panic situations with a collected eye.
Donna first saw Luke when he and the Band all drove by chased by Monsters. Him and Kenji worked to pick off monsters as Rocky and Raina picked up children who could see him, including Donna. Luke and Kenji picked up the rescued kids from Rocky’s car before he drove a suicide run into the monsters. Luke and the others were then free to escape.
Luke helped comfort Donna at Rocky’s funeral by reminding her to find joy even in sadness. The next day, when the monsters attacked the Camp, Luke helped fight off the monsters as others escaped. He was one of few survivors of the attack.
After the attack he went with Donna, Kenji and other Bands to attack the Monster’s Citadel and rescue Raina and the others. They arrived too late, as they are all black-and-white already, even Raina. Donna managed to awaken them; however, the group was attacked before they could escape. Luke was downed by the Veratu but he was not killed.
