Luke Smith

Origin

Luke Smith is a synthesised human created by the alien Bane, who genetically engineered him from DNA samples taken from thousands of unsuspecting humans to be “the Archetype”, a perfect test subject for their anti-human experiments. His growth was initially accelerated, so that he appeared to be a boy in his early teens at the time of his “birth”, and his intellect is super-genius level. Journalist Sarah Jane Smith and her friend Maria Jackson rescued him, and Smith subsequently adopted him as her son, giving him the name Luke.

Creation

Luke Smith was created by Russell T. Davies for CBBC’s The Sarah Jane Adventures, a TV spin-off from Doctor Who. He was played by Tommy Knight. His only comic strip appearance to date is in an online story on the BBC website.
