Lydia is the uncharacteristically English-accented, blonde, second-in-command of the Visitor fleet. She is driven by power, but is far less malevolent than her leader, Diana. Lydia often informs their “Leader” of Diana’s exploits, and overseers a number of other visitors, including Charles and Philip. She survives an assassination attempt by Diana, and later falls in love with Charles. She is enraged when Charles chooses to marry Diana, and attempts to poison Diana. Charles mistakenly drinks from the cup, and Lydia escapes execution with the aid of Diana, by framing Marta for her crime. Diana orders that Marta be jettisoned into space alive alongside Charles’s rotting corpse.
