Origin
Lynessa is the daughter of the witch Zamora and twin sister of Zinna. She took her residence in Skarab, a region in the west of Oz. As such she became known as the Wicked Witch of the West.
Creation
Like most characters of the Grimm Fairy Tales lore, Lynessa has her inspiration in fairy tales or literature. Lynessa is inspired on the Wicked Witch of the West from L. Frank Baum‘s children’s book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (1900).

Grimm Fairy Tales Presents Oz
The wolf known as Toto ran away with the Veridian Scepter, which had killed her mother many years ago. He ran from Oz through a portal to Kansas and encountered a helpful Dorothy Gale. Lynessa had tracked down Toto and demanded him back. But Dorothy refused to give him up. Angered, Lynessa magically transported Dorothy’s farm to Oz, where her sister Zinna awaited them.
