Origin
Very little is known about Mac. At some point he became a police officer with the LAPD, and was partnered with Roy. Either under Roy’s influence, or sometime before they were partnered, he became corrupt.
Creation
Mac was created by Nick Spencer and Steve Lieber. He made his first appearance in The Fix #1.
Major Story Arcs
The Fix
Together with Roy, Mac carries out a series of crimes in an effort to pay back a debt to their boss, Josh. When they gamble their money away without giving any to Josh, he offers to forgive the debt if they can smuggle something through LAX. Mac reluctantly allows Roy to shoot him in the hand so that he will be assigned to the K-9 unit. After spending some time in the hospital, he is partnered with Pretzels, who takes an instant dislike to Mac. After they take down a drug smuggler together, Mac and Pretzels finally bond, allowing Josh’s smuggling plot to move forward. He is shot and critically wounded after having a crisis of conscience and challenging Deal, one of Josh’s agents.
Powers and Abilities
Mac is a competent detective, and has received the basic weapons and procedural training given to police officers.
