Macro Man is a specially created organic animate given life by Doctor Bedlam. Bedlam also implanted explosives in his chest that blew him up when Captain Marvel called out Shazam. This made Captain Marvel believe he blew up Macro Man an d he swore to never become Captain Marvel again. This is what Darkseid had planned from the beginning during his operation: Humiliation during the Legends crisis.
