Major Forsythe is a British army officer in charge of directing Loop Logan while the pilot performs operations against Italian forces in Libya. The major hopes Loop can help convince the Arabian tribes to work with the English instead of the Italians.
Ali guides Loop as he flies with Clatra in search of an oasis where the Arabian chieftains are to meet. Working to foil the plans, Ali misleads the pilot until the plane runs out of fuel and is forced to land. Camping in the desert, Ali tries to knife Loop in his sleep, but Clatra fights the traitorous guide. Ali is forced into the fire and is burned to death.
