Margaret Thatcher (1925 – 2013) Ms. Thatcher was the leader of the UK’s Conservative Party when she was Prime Minister. It has been reported that Prime Minister Thatcher and President Reagan were close political allies and friends. Thatcher turned out to be almost psychic regarding Soviet President Gorbachev. She met him very early on after he became President and made the famous statement “We can do business with this man”. Little could she know that before his career ended the Berlin Wall would fall and soon thereafter the Iron Curtain across Eastern Europe would collapse.
