History
Maria was a Peruvian mutant who embraced the communist Shining Path to overthrow the Peruvian government. Along with her colleagues she broke the path’s leader, Ernesto Sanz, out of jail and captured Cable when he tried to infiltrate their camp. She then destroyed an important lumber camp.
After the Shining Path were defeated, Maria resorted to armed robbery, only to be defeated Cable and slain in self-defense.

Maria can project intense beams of heat from the palms of her hands, intense enough to potentially topple buildings.
