Marie appears in Interlude, a four-part Mage backup story in Grendel. She waits to meet her lover, Etienne, at a sculpture park in the woods. He turns out to be an evil faerie, and turns into a demonic-looking horse. He attacks her, but is forestalled by the sudden appearance of Kevin Matchstick. Matchstick defeats Etienne and walks off, leaving Marie with no clue as to what on Earth just happened!
