HISTORY
Socialite Marion Harper is shot and killed by Hal Darro, who works a blackmail scheme involving the a gossip paper called the Weekly Tattler. Marion intended to reveal Darro’s activity. Darro placed the murder weapon in Mrs. Harper’s hand to make it appear to be a suicide. Heading up the blackmail scheme is a boss who wears a mask.
Ruth Ransom refuses to believe that Marion killed herself. She involves Paul Patton in her operation to track down the real killer. While she’s on the phone with Paul, Darro kidnaps her. Paul dons his costume to become The Fox. He goes to the Tattler office and confronts Hal and the boss. The Fox takes a picture and says it was requested by the boss to use against Hal Darro in a murder case. The boss tries to talk to Hal, but Darro shoots him, turning on The Fox.
Ruth Ransom worked her way out of the ropes that bound her. She sees Hal preparing to shoot The Fox. She breaks a lightbulb from a lamp and distracts Darro. The Fox is able to overcome Darro. The boss is revealed to be Mr. Harper, Marion’s husband.
