Born to an immigrant family and living in a neighborhood where the supersticion and magic were part of her everyday life, Marta Dobrescu wanted nothing more than to leave Shadow Hill, and become one of the inhabitants of the modern Astro City. However when her office was attacked by supervillians, she realizes that the protections she once ruled were now comforting.
After several years and adapted to live in Shadow Hill, Martha learned to make her interests, her life style and her traditions to be compatible, and even helping mystical superheroes such as The Hanged Man and the Silver Adept in their legal troubles. In the present she is in a romantic relationship with Tom Aaronson.
