Origin
Mr. Smith is the father of Boom Boom. Much of his dealings with his daughter have occurred off-panel. What we gather is mostly what Boom Boom says, that being that her father was an abusive, drunken man who kicked her out of the house when she manifested her mutants abilities.
Major Story Arcs
During the X-Tinction Agenda, Mr. Smith is interviewed by a news station and does not represent his daughter well at all. He actually comments on how Boom Boom’s captors should knock some respect into her.Â

When all is said and done, however, Mr. Smith never hated his daughter. During a later visit, Mr. Smith tells Boom Boom that he simply got tired of watching her once her mother had left. His trailer is blown up a few minutes later. Mr. Smith survives the blast but spends quite a while in the hospital, initially entering in critical condition.
