A mass breakout occurs when a mystic hammer crashes into the Raft Maximum Security Prison off the coast of Manhattan. Misty Knight is coordinating her Heroes for Hire to help with the situation and the Shroud is already there trying to subdue as many escapees as possible. The Shroud comes into conflict with Mash-Up, a modern day Frankenstein with bionic and surgical enhancements that grants him superhuman strength and a pyrotechnic named Firefight. Firefight tries to burn the Shroud while he is preoccupied with Mash-Up. The Shroud gets some assistance from Elektra and she knocks out Mash-Up with a strike to the back of his neck.
Creation
Mash-Up was created by Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning and Kyle Hotz in 2011 and first appeared in Heroes for Hire # 9.Â
