May Johnson

During past nine years she has been a familiar face around Dowtown part of San Francisco. Her husband committed suicide before police could arrest him for embezzlement. Repaying the monies stolen cost May her house and her car, but not her dignity and humor.

Old Mr. Koo, the korean grocer who often slips a few fresh fruits into May’s cart of Wordly Goods, has said of her, “May Johnson part of city. Don’t know what we do without her”.

She was captured by Black School.
