At one period of time Mayte Garcia was Prince’s “Soul mate”. He honestly believed that they were spiritually linked. She was his wife form February 14th of1996 to sometime in the year 2000, when they officially divorced after being estranged since 1998. They did have a baby together, which was named Gregory, who died a week after birth because of a rare skull defect. She met Prince at 18 years old when she managed to get him a copy of a tape of her dancing. Mayte was a professional belly dancer.
Her music career was a failure, but she remains a professional choreographer.
After her fallout with Prince, she was in a relationship with Drummer Tommy Lee that lasted about 2 years. The kissing lips tattoo on his neck is suppose to be a tattoo from her actual kiss on his neck.
